What's Happening?

2024 Don Halcomb Memorial Scholarship Recipients Announced

The Kentucky Small Grain Growers and Walnut Grove Farms are proud to announce the recipients of the Don Halcomb Memorial Scholarships for Community Leadership Through Agriculture. Two scholarships were offered for $1,000 each, one for a high school senior entering college, and one for a current college student in an undergraduate or graduate program. Applicants were required to be Kentucky residents and pursuing an agriculture or related field at any accredited college, university or trade school.

Catherine Louise Brown, of Elizabethtown, is graduating from Central Hardin High School. She plans to attend Asbury University to enter the Equine Studies program with an emphasis on training and management, but she also loves working in the greenhouse. The committee appreciated her creative approach to overcoming personal challenges as well as her interest in cross-cultural engagement for the betterment of her local community and beyond.

 

Riley Hudnall, of Bowling Green, is studying agricultural business at Murray State University, and her goal is to work with and educate other agriculturalists like herself. The committee appreciated her entrepreneurship and willingness to take risks in the pursuit of personal and professional growth.
